Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of AllClear. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

What AllClear is

AllClear matches products and vehicles against U.S. federal recall data (CPSC, FDA, USDA FSIS, NHTSA) and returns a screening result: match, review, or all clear, each with the official notice cited.

Screening is a signal, not legal or safety advice

Our verdicts reflect federal data as we ingest it and are provided for informational purposes. They are not legal advice, not safety certification, and not a guarantee that an item is or is not recalled. Federal sources have their own latencies and their own disclaimers (openFDA data, for example, is unvalidated). Always confirm against the cited official notice, and do not rely on AllClear as your sole basis for selling, buying, or using any product. You remain responsible for your own compliance obligations.

Accounts

You’re responsible for activity under your account and API keys. Keep your keys secret; revoke and rotate them if exposed. Don’t share sign-in links.

Subscriptions & billing

• Paid plans (Family, Pro) are billed monthly in advance through Stripe.
• You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the paid period. We don’t provide prorated refunds for partial months except where required by law.
• Prices and plan limits may change with notice; changes apply to your next billing cycle.
• The free tier is provided as-is and may change.

Acceptable use

Don’t abuse the service: no attempts to exceed or circumvent rate limits, scrape at scale, resell raw access, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the platform. API usage is metered per your plan. We may suspend accounts that threaten the integrity or availability of the service.

Intellectual property

The recall data originates from public federal sources. The AllClear service, matching engine, interfaces, and clearance certificates are ours. Your watchlist and your exported audit logs are yours.

Warranty & liability

The service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, including completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AllClear is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
