Tyco Fire & Security Recall to Upgrade Software of Fire Detection Systems

Official recall recorded by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The hazard

Sensors in these fire detection systems could experience reduced sensitivity to smoke in conditions of high humidity and high temperature. If this occurs, these sensors could delay detecting the presence of smoke in the event of a fire.

What to do

Commercial building owners and managers with these sensors will be contacted directly by one of the distributors to verify that the system is included in the recall and to arrange for a free software upgrade.
