Coast Spas and Franklin Electric Co. Recall Coast Spas Due to Fire Hazard

Official recall recorded by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The hazard

The recalled spas have a circulating pump and motor assembly, which can overheat and pose a fire hazard.

What to do

Consumers should contact Coast Spas immediately to arrange for the installation of a free retrofit by a service technician. Until the retrofit is completed, consumers should shut off power to the spa, and in areas subject to below-freezing temperatures, winterize the spa. Winterization procedures can be found in the owner's manual, or by contacting Coast Spas by phone.
